    Other Conditions:

    General funds, to begin approximately August 2024, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Assignments may include evening and weekend work; and travel between Hilo, West Hawai'i , and other off-site locations.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Provide career exploration and comprehensive career services for students.
    2. Conduct career assessment inventories and interpret results with students.
    3. Manage online career development and software programs, i.e Handshake, SECE, Focus2.
    4. Coordinate on-campus employment services.
    5. Collaborate with faculty and employers to establish/support internship opportunities.
    6. Serve as a resource to faculty and staff in the areas of career-related curriculum development and career/life planning.
    7. Offer pre- and post-graduate employment services, which include job readiness workshops.
    8. Team with counselors to provide outreach, recruitment, orientation, registration, and enrollment services. This may include educational, career, transfer, transition, and life planning counseling.
    9. Provide general financial aid information.
    10. Manage student data and prepare reports as needed.
    11. Participate in program, department, college and community service as appropriate.
    12. Participate in professional and self-development activities as well as faculty and administrative committees.
    13. New or changing responsibilities reflective of program needs may be required.
    14. Other duties as assigned.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Master's Degree in Counseling and Guidance, College Student Personnel Services, Human Resources (to include both CTAHR and Personnel), Communications or related field;
    2. OR Bachelor's Degree in Counseling and Guidance, College Student Personnel Services, Human Resources (to include both CTAHR and Personnel), Communications in any of the above fields or related field plus three (3) years related work experience.

    Related fields include: Education (to include all degrees in this field), Family Resources, Human Development, Psychology (to include all degrees in this field), Public Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, and Student Services Personnel.


    Desirable Qualification:

    1. Knowledge of community college, philosophy, mission and purpose. 
    2. Experience with community college Career & Technical Education programs and student services. 
    3. Knowledge of job market information and trends and employment resources within and beyond the County and State of Hawai'i . 
    4. Experience in workforce and job development and placement. 
    5. Grant writing experience. 
    6. Knowledge of EEO/AA/ADA employment policies. 
    7. Demonstrated commitment and/or experience promoting equity and a diverse workforce/academic environment.
    8. Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
