Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Career Services, the Associate Dean for Career Services, the Director of Online Graduate Career Services is an integral member of the Raymond A. Mason Graduate Career Management Center and the Center for Online Learning teams. In this new role, the Director will envision and implement a comprehensive strategy to serve working professionals and executive students and alumni in a growing portfolio of online graduate programs.
The Director may play an active role in selecting professional associations and external organizations where beneficial to the reputation of the Mason School of Business amongst employers, in the field of higher education and/or to program rankings. The Director serves as an expert in online student career and professional development services, and serves as a key partner of career services colleagues (including those focused on serving residential students) – while identifying and advocating for the unique needs of online students.
Conditions of Employment
- This position requires additional hours beyond the typical work week, to include
- occasional overnight and weekend work as needed to meet the business needs of the operation. Hours may also vary in accordance with the needs of working professionals pursuing online degrees.
- Ability to work flexible hours with occasional travel.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed during special events, projects, evening programs and data reporting periods.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree, a combination of education and significant experience in similar roles.
- Graduate career management experience and/or corporate experience in managing talent programs, industry and hiring trends, understanding of career advising/coaching frameworks, employer relations, executive coaching and networking.
- Experience managing and motivating a team in a service- oriented environment.
- Experience creating and leading career and professional development-oriented workshops and curriculum, as well as the ability to deliver job search process and preparation, skill-building, professional development, and executive coaching Excellent communication and presentation skills both in person and virtually.
- Familiarity with career services technology utilized to support student success virtually (e.g., Handshake, VMock and/or similar tools)
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant history of career/executive coaching
- Certified career coach or other industry-relevant certification (SPHR, PMP, etc.).
- Experience leading the gathering, analysis and reporting of online student career outcomes.
- Understanding of the impact that external rankings (including career outcomes) on Business School and student success

Advertised Pay Range
Up to $90,000 commensurate with exprience and internal pay alignment
