Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Position Overview: The Structural Engineer will play a critical role in our company by designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structural elements for residential and commercial buildings. This position requires a strong technical background in structural engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering safe and efficient designs. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design, analysis, and project management within the construction industry.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design and analyze structural elements, including beams, columns, foundations, and retaining walls, using engineering principles and software tools
    • Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations in accordance with building codes, regulations, and project requirements
    • Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to develop comprehensive structural designs that meet client expectations and project goals
    • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures, identify structural issues, and provide recommendations for repair or reinforcement
    • Review and approve construction plans and documents to ensure compliance with structural design requirements
    • Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during the building process, addressing questions and resolving issues related to structural elements
    • Perform structural analysis and modeling using software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar programs
    • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in structural engineering technology, materials, and best practices

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of South Carolina, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably in the construction industry
    • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar programs
    • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural design and construction
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills
    • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
    • Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) is a plus
