Position: Behavioral Health Counselor for Interior Medication Assisted Treatment. IMAT is a comprehensive Opioid Treatment Program providing medication for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorders in combination with counseling and case management services.

Position is available immediately.

Pay: Starting $26 - $32 per hour DOE and credentials

Hours: 20-30 hours per week. Start and end times are flexible

Qualifications: Have or be working toward a Master’s Degree in Counseling or related field. Have or be willing to work toward Alaska Chemical Dependency Counselor Certification

Duties: Provide treatment and support services to clients with Opioid Use Disorders; including screening, assessment, individual and group counseling, consumer advocacy/support, education and resource identification assistance to clients.

Understand and support medication assisted treatment, possess above average communication skills and have experience working with people from diverse cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in human services or substance abuse field preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ethical
• Comfortable asking questions
• Personal and professional boundaries
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have a current Alaska driver’s license and own transportation.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in verbal, non-verbal and written communication.
• Adaptive skills such as flexibility, self-awareness, being coachable, and good listening skills.
