Certified Medication Technician administers prescribed medications to patients and maintains related medical records under immediate supervision. Administers medications using proper dosage, route, timing, and techniques. Being a Certified Medication Technician verifies the identity of the patient receiving medication. Records the name of the drug, the dosage, the time of administration, and any other relevant information on specified forms or records. Additionally, Certified Medication Technician takes vital signs and observes patient to detect response to medication. Follows all relevant safety guidelines and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Requires Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification. Typically reports to a registered nurse or manager. Position: Behavioral Health Counselor for Interior Medication Assisted Treatment. IMAT is a comprehensive Opioid Treatment Program providing medication for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorders in combination with counseling and case management services.
Position is available immediately.
Pay: Starting $26 - $32 per hour DOE and credentials
Hours: 20-30 hours per week. Start and end times are flexible
Qualifications: Have or be working toward a Master’s Degree in Counseling or related field. Have or be willing to work toward Alaska Chemical Dependency Counselor Certification
Duties: Provide treatment and support services to clients with Opioid Use Disorders; including screening, assessment, individual and group counseling, consumer advocacy/support, education and resource identification assistance to clients.
Understand and support medication assisted treatment, possess above average communication skills and have experience working with people from diverse cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs.
