Certified Nurse Midwife provides professional care for patients with obstetric and gynecologic needs. Assists patients in labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care. Being a Certified Nurse Midwife ensures safety and health of mother and child and identifies need for additional care. Works in conjunction with a practicing physician. Additionally, Certified Nurse Midwife requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Certified as Nurse Midwife. Requires Registered Nurse. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Certified Nurse Midwife's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     • Education in the disciplines of nursing and midwifery
    • Certified by American College of Nurse-Midwives Certification
    • Connecticut License Certified Nurse Midwife
    • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical practice standards, normal maternal/fetal growth and development, and requirements of nurse-midwifery practice
    • Federal and State controlled substance licenses
    • BLS certification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ability to independently seek out resources and solve complex problems
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
    • Ability to provide leadership in the clinical area of expertise and in meeting organizational goals
    • Excellent organizational skills
