Charge Nurse jobs in New Hampshire
Charge Nurse plans, directs, and evaluates the overall nursing care and functions in a particular nursing unit or during an assigned shift. Coordinates the activities of the unit and directs, organizes, and assigns work to the nursing staff. Being a Charge Nurse assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary. Additionally, Charge Nurse requires a bachelor's degree. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Charge Nurse supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Charge Nurse typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The primary responsibility of the Charge Nurse is:Professional nurse who demonstrates strong leadership skills, clinical expertise and compassion for patients and teammates. This nurse provides care for patients and has unit operation oversight throughout the assigned shift. Other key aspects of this position are to role model professional nursing behaviors, clinical competencies and critical thinking. The charge nurse will mentor, precept and nurture new nurses with the goal of successful transition from novice to expert.
An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- NH state Registered Nurse Licensure
- Current BLS
- Three to five years relevant nursing experience
