Chief CAT Scan Technologist oversees computer-assisted tomography and the maintenance of department supplies, equipment, and facilities to ensure the quality of services. Introduces and teaches new techniques to staff. Being a Chief CAT Scan Technologist maintains environmental, infection control, and safety procedures for the department. Typically requires an associate's degree. Additionally, Chief CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a director. The Chief CAT Scan Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Position Summary: The CT technologist is accountable to the Department Manager for the performing of CT procedures, contrast injection and the ability to achieve acceptable quality images. When not performing duties directly related to CT the technologist will be utilized in other applicable duties as assigned by the Manager.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure:
· Completion of radiological technology training from an AMA approved school.
· Current certification with the ARRT in Radiology required.
· Current certification with the ARRT in CT preferred.
· At least one year of experience as a CT technologist preferred.
