Instructional Services Librarian

Position Summary:

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College seeks an enthusiastic, creative, collegial, and service-oriented Instructional Services Librarian. Reporting directly to the Director of ABAC Libraries, the successful candidate will be an active and engaged member of the Baldwin Library. The candidate will be primarily responsible for instruction: including online tutorials, in person and in class instruction, and one-on-one research coaching - both in person and online. This position will work closely with faculty and academic departments across the campus to develop and deliver a proactive, multifaceted information literacy program that supports student success. The position will also participate in library activities including collection development, cataloging, and reference. The position is a ten-month contract, non-tenured faculty posting.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College is a residential state college located in Tifton, Georgia, named one of the best 100 small towns in America. The college offers associate and baccalaureate degrees and has an approximate enrollment of 3,400. The small size allows faculty, staff, and students to work closely together and allows for engaged and mentored learning experiences.

Long Description:

• 
  Spearheading instruction for Baldwin Library. This includes all the tiers of instruction ranging from basic tutorials to advanced research techniques. Library instruction should adhere to the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy guidelines
• Creating and leading campus library programming
• Participating in Library 2.0 services across campus including managing social media, website, calendars, email, and online help/tutorials
• Assisting with collection development and acquisitions
• Promoting library awareness across campus
• Cross training on circulation

Required Qualifications:

• 
  An MLS/MLIS from an accredited ALA graduate program is required. Recent MLS/MLIS graduates are encouraged
• Must be a dynamic communicator (both oral and written)
• Experience working in a library setting with knowledge of library processes
• Availability on nights and weekends with advance notice

Desired Qualifications-Preferred

• 
  Knowledge of working with Microsoft suite, as well as social media
• Previous experience in an academic library setting
• Teaching/education experience
• Collection development experience
• Experience with ExLibris Alma and Primo
• Experience with EBSCO Folio
• Knowledge of electronic learning resources and databases, including LibGuides
• Knowledge of social media
