Oversees professional and support staff involved in cataloging, indexing, issuing books/materials, and keeping records of items on loan. Being a Chief Medical Librarian (MLS) selects books and publications for purchase and subscribes to pertinent periodicals as allowed for by the given budget. Responds to more complex requests from faculty, medical staff, and students. Additionally, Chief Medical Librarian (MLS) possess broad and current knowledge of medical developments and scientific literature. Requires a master's degree in library science. Basic Function:
Under the leadership of the Medical Director of Laboratory, Administrative Director of Laboratory Services, and the Laboratory Supervisor, the Medical Technologist and Medical Laboratory Scientist must meet defined qualifications and fulfill expected responsibilities. The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing laboratory testing and accurately reporting test results in order to obtain clinical test data for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment of patients.
