Job Summary
The Chief Medical Officer (“CMO”), will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight in the development, implementation, and management of clinical programs including our value-based care clinical programs and services. The CMO will serve as a critical contact for resolution of escalated BASS Medical Group (“BMG” or the “Company”) physician questions, clinical issues and organizational questions. As such, the CMO will work to promote group identity, support and mentor physician members, and monitor issues involving compliance of BMG employment requirements. In addition, the CMO will assist the senior and executive management teams, C-Levels, and Board of Directors in various business development and physician governance initiatives.
Job Accountabilities:
- Strategic Leadership: In coordination with senior and executive management and BMG Quality Committee, develop and execute a comprehensive clinical strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives for various center of excellence programs. Provide leadership and direction to clinical teams to optimize care delivery and drive performance excellence.
- Data Analysis and Performance Metrics: Utilize data analytics to evaluate the performance of clinical programs, identify trends, and drive actionable insights for continuous improvement. Develop new achievable performance indicators and metrics to measure program effectiveness and efficiency. Make recommendations to senior management for upgrades to EMR and IT systems to achieve these goals.
- Provider Collaboration: Create and execute a clear agenda to foster group identity with emphasis on understanding the process and challenges physicians face in providing patient care. Promote strong relationships with healthcare providers, including physicians, hospitals, and other care delivery organizations. Collaborate with providers to promote evidence-based practices, streamline care coordination, and enhance clinical integration. Understand and facilitate the established process via HR and Legal for any noncompliance/disciplinary actions.
- Clinical Program Development: Design and implement innovative clinical programs and initiatives to enhance the overall health and well-being of BMG patients with an emphasis on Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective program integration and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Identify and maintain achievable quality metrics that fulfill target contract goals for both primary and specialist medical care. In collaboration with the Quality Committee, establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical programs and services. Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with federal and state regulations governing Medicare Advantage programs. Ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines, standards, and reporting requirements. Periodically update senior and executive management, C-Levels, and the BMG Board on new regulations requiring a change in BMG policies/procedures.
- Team Development: Develop a standard of qualifications for new physicians. Ensure physician understanding of BMG organizational structure, SOPs, and mission. In conjunction with HR, promote physician completion of all training modules at time of contract signing. Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing clinical team. Foster a culture of group collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Provide guidance and support to clinicians, ensuring adherence to best practices and promoting a patient-centric approach. Enhance plan for recruitment of needed BMG clinical manpower including both primary and medical specialties.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, operational teams, government agencies, and industry partners. Represent the organization in relevant industry forums and conferences. Provide summary presentations as needed at BMG Board meetings and the BMG Annual Shareholders meeting. Be a leader in directing change at strategic planning meetings.
Requirements
Job Skillset and Qualifications Required:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Previous experience with direct patient care with understanding of the process and challenges physicians face in day-to-day patient care.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, with a focus on Medicare Advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to resolve disagreements in a fair, empathetic, amicable, and legally compliant manner.
- Strong understanding of Medicare Advantage regulations, policies, payment models and implementation requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing clinical programs, preferably in managed care settings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset.
- Knowledge of healthcare technology systems, specifically EPIC proficiency in data analytics tools.

Compensation will be based on experience
$300,000.00 - $400,000.00
