Incumbent performs law enforcement duties including investigation, apprehension, arrest, detention, or prosecution of persons violating applicable laws, rules & regulations enacted to maintain order and protect and provide public safety to communities within Indian Country.

Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:Successful completion of a Federal, State, county, or municipal police academy or comparable training course that included at least 40 classroom hours of instruction in police department procedures and methods, and local law and regulations, may be substituted for a maximum of 3 months of specialized experience or 6 months of general experience.
GL-07: To qualify at the GL-07 level you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GL-05 grade level performing ALL of the following: 1) Assisting in conducting preliminary investigations; 2) Participating in traffic, boundary, trail, and/or hunting patrols to enforce federal laws; and 3) Executing arrest warrants
Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education (18 semester or 27 quarter hours) OR Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.)
