Job Description : Reports to (job title) : Life Sales ManagerI. Position DescriptionPrimary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions) : The Life and Annuity Agent will customarily and regularly be engaged in outside sales activities away from their assigned AAA branch (or away from their remote office if working remotely).

Examples may include : Making connections with persons physically outside of the office, such as visiting businesses, retail or office locations, real estate agents, mortgage companies, or other partners where a customer referral network and relationships can be created.

Prospecting (excludes work from assigned office location, to include home office if applicable) for new Discounts & Rewards partners, Group Membership opportunities, Approved Auto Repair locations, or Join2Give organizations, to name a few to help develop new customers.

Follow-up appointments conducted in person outside the branch or home office.The Life and Annuity Agent will solicit and sell Life and Health products under minimal supervision.

Learn various product features and marketing and sales techniques necessary to perform duties. Develop leads and prospects new accounts through various marketing activities (mailings, referrals, networking, website, sales.

com, seminars, etc.) Successfully complete commission validation program.The Agent will develop leads and prospects for the purpose of conducting fact finding interviews to determine needs for coverage.

Prepare proposals, and conduct closing interviews for Life and Health Insurance sales. Complete appropriate applications and forms and follows internal processing procedures to ensure transactions are handled in accordance with company policies and practices.

Work collaboratively with others in the Branch to reach business goals, maximize leads, sales opportunities and take advantage of cross-sell opportunities.

Assist Underwriting and Brokerage Departments in satisfying requirements. Respond to customer inquiries and problems and ensure sound-sales practices are used.

Prepare reports documenting prospecting and sales activities and maintains specified production standards and persistency levels for Life and Health insurance.

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)Education (include minimum education and any licensing / certifications) : High School Diploma or equivalentPossession of valid State Life Sales licensesAbility to take and pass LUTC or CLU courseworkMaintain Life and Health licenses required to sell products.

Possession of a valid State driver's licenseMust qualify, obtain, and maintain all applicable state licenses and appointments required for selling and / or servicing Auto Club Group Membership products.

Experience : Minimum of 2 years experience with a proven record of successfully soliciting and selling life insurance products.

Experience selling intangible products.Knowledge and Skills : Strong working knowledge of Life Insurance and Annuity products and servicesAbility to listen to and analyze customer needs and make recommendations to customers that best fit customers' needs and to promote a positive Member experienceEffectively communicate complex information with prospective clients in a clear mannerAbility to prepare proposals, and conduct closing interviews to sell Life and Annuity products.

Assessing and reflecting customer insurance requirements consistent with company standards when writing policiesAbility to perform mathematical calculations to determine premiums and values of Life insurance policiesAbility to build and maintains strong relationships with customersProspecting and developing new sales opportunities and meeting production requirementsAbility to work collaboratively with all team members to attain business goals.

Strong communication skills with others in the Branch to keep partners and branch management informed on sales and the disposition of any partner generated leadsUnderstands and can articulate to customers the tax and legal impacts the products have on MembersStrong organization, planning, time management and administrative skillsRepresenting Auto Club Life in a professional and positive mannerSafely operating a motor vehicle to travel to various locations to attend meetingsProficient writing skills to compose routine correspondenceWorking independently with minimal supervisionKnowledge of MS Office applications : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookAbility and willingness to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.

III. Preferred QualificationsCollege level courseworkLUTCF or FSCP certificationProfessional designations through the American College of Financial ServicesStrong knowledge of features and benefits of ACG's comprehensive product portfolioKnowledge of ACG systems for policy sales, quoting, etc.

IV. Work EnvironmentFrequent (up to 80% of work time) travel required with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes.

May visit clients at their residence, place of work, at the branch office or at other business locations. May work outside at an ACG sponsored event - with exposure to various weather conditions.
