Choke Setter ensures that logs are properly attached and fastened to vehicle for transportation. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Choke Setter has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Additionally, Choke Setter works under immediate supervision. · Demonstrates Safety in all job duties/Job execution and supports all PSIMP safety requirements
· Ability to work and communicate within a team environment
· Ability to move/relocate the molds as needed in the manufacturing plant, mold weights of 400 pounds and up to 8,000 pounds
· Ability to perform complete mold set up requirements, including mold installation and removal from the injection molding machine. Install and remove to include, Mold mounting, ejector installation, hot manifold, molding water/plumbing, hot oil applications, hydraulic core actions, including unscrewing design.
· Ability to recognize equipment breakdown and initiate corrective action/repairs
· Ability to complete mold machine clamp/mold protect setup
· Provide technical support to Operators and other molding personnel
· Assures that all auxiliaries, such as, robots and conveyors. material hoppers, granulators, and dryers are set and functioning.
· Performing process troubleshooting, part inspections and various other functions to ensure part conformity and quality.
· Verifying paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at the startup of jobs and in-process inspections
· Monitoring and preparing support equipment i.e., circulators, grinders, etc., as needed in the production area.
· Assisting in break coverage as needed.
· Additional responsibilities as assigned by manager.
