Client Technologies Technician, Sr. maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots desktop hardware and software packages. Interacts with end-users to identify current computing procedures and desktop-based LAN systems software operations and makes selection recommendations accordingly. Being a Client Technologies Technician, Sr. is responsible for writing documentation to describe product corrections. Writes manual for end-users to describe installation and operating procedures. Additionally, Client Technologies Technician, Sr. requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Familiar with the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Typically reports to a manager. To be a Client Technologies Technician, Sr. typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Provide Tier 1 support to resolve administrative and technical concerns with client/server devices;
    • Install, configure and operate client/server devices;
    • Provide OM&S of hardware and software;
    • Provide client and server support services IAW SPIN-C, AFI 17-100, AFMAN 17-1301, AFGM2018-17-02 policies, procedures, certification and acceptance processes and TO-site specific local policies and procedures.
    • Assist and provide continuity to the communications squadron’s automated data processing equipment (ADPE) custodian and equipment custodian (EC) officer;
    • When requested, assist the unit EC with computer hardware and software inventories.

    Education:

    • High School diploma or GED;
    • DoD 8570.01-Manual IAT Category/Specialty: IAT-II

    Certifications:

    • A ;
    • MCSA-Windows 10 or newer

    Experience:

    • 1-2 years’ practical experience in: installation, repair, and troubleshooting and maintenance of communications systems or equipment; installing/deleting client level software; diagnostic and troubleshooting of basic computer workstation; implementing/installing software patches, security fixes, and service release of workstation

    Supervisory Responsibility: None

    Work Environment: This job operates in a professional classroom and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

    Physical Demands:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone, keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install/repair computer equipment.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
    • Light to moderate lifting is required.
    • Be able to lift and move electronic equipment in excess of 40lbs in and out of classrooms, labs, and test center.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Workdays do not include working or conducting business on Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed closings.

    Travel:

    Limited travel may be required.
