Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Operating Room Nurse Educator will work at a 300 bed facility known for both their acute care hospital and rehab center. Reporting to the Director of Nursing Education, the Clinical Nurse Educator of Perioperative Surgical Services will oversee education for the surgical services department. The Clinical Nursing Education department strives to develop curriculum and continuous education for current department staff and new-hires, focused on utilizing the most advanced technology, techniques, and evidence-based best practices. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Perioperative Surgical Services will work alongside Operating Room, PreOperative, PACU, and Sterile Processing department directors, managers, staff, physicians, and technicians. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Surgery will be responsible for new hire training and preceptor program, ongoing educational program development, and nursing consultations.
The Clinical Nurse Educator of Perioperative Surgical Services is a personable, efficient, communicator with experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, presenting to an audience, and leading teams. The RN Nursing Educator will be knowledgeable on the latest evidence based practices used throughout the Perioperative Surgical Services department, recent clinical operating room experience, and preceptor hours. The OR Surgical Services Educator must hold their active registered nurse license with previous Operating Room RN experience. The Clinical Nurse Educator of Surgical Services can be an individual with a preceptor background with their masters, or a current Nursing Educator looking to increase scope of responsibility, solely focusing on nursing education of perioperative services.
