Clinical Information System Specialist provides on-site technical support to clinicians to ensure the proper and effective use of clinical information systems and improve the delivery of patient care. Assists users with system navigation, troubleshooting and patient monitoring issues. Being a Clinical Information System Specialist collaborates with leaders across functions and disciplines to plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical systems and services. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Information System Specialist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. - Completes all coding education as required within established deadlines.
- Commits to continually improving his/her coding skills by actively participating in all education sessions.
- Reports to the Director of Coding Services..
Qualifications:- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
- Minimum 3 years outpatient coding experience in an acute care hospital.
- CPT coding proficiency
- Computer proficiency, able to research coding questions and utilize HIA’s internal educational resources.
- High Speed Internet via Cable (no Satellite or wireless cell based)
- Independent, focused individual able to work remotely.
