The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a licensed registered nurse who has completed graduate education in nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse. As an Advanced Practice Nurse, the CNS embodies knowledge in a specialized area of nursing and promotes quality patient care through three spheres of influence: the patient, nursing personnel, and the organization. Key Accountability · Accepts responsibility to maintain and developing own skill and knowledge in the clinical area of expertise. (Adult/Geriatric, or Adult Critical Care) · Integrates and demonstrates FOCUS values · This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency situation to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the UPHDM Hospital Emergency Incident Command System. Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained. |
