Clinical Nurse Specialist serves as a clinical expert providing teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, and systems improvement in a specific practice area or with a specific patient population. Coordinates and guides clinical activities/projects of nurses within a practice area. Being a Clinical Nurse Specialist collaborates with members of the health care team to design and implement safe, cost-effective, and evidence-based care strategies. May require a master's degree in nursing. Additionally, Clinical Nurse Specialist requires Registered Nurse (RN) License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Nurse Specialist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Clinical Nurse Specialist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Pain Specialists of America (“PSA”) is a Texas-based, multisite comprehensive pain management. We are seeking an experienced Nurse practitioner who can support both our Round Rock and Cedar Park locations and help achieve strategic objectives.


    This NP will work out of the following locations, Round Rock and Cedar Park:


    Cedar Park

    Address: 1401 Medical Parkway, Building C, Suite 345 Cedar Park, TX 78613 

     

    Round Rock

    Address: 7201 Wyoming Springs Drive, Suite 400 Round Rock, TX 78681 


    Essential Functions

    • Perform physical exams and patient observations.
    • Record patient medical histories and symptoms.
    • Create patient care plans and contribute to existing plans.
    • Order, administer and analyze diagnostic tests.
    • Detect changes in a patient’s health and change treatment plans as necessary.
    • Administer medicines and treatments.
    • Evaluate responses to treatments and medications.
    • Consult with healthcare professionals.
    • Train patients and families on managing pain.
    • PSA is looking for a Licensed Practitioner who will be responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations and the nursing standards of care.

    Requirements

    Master’s degree from an accredited nursing program. 

    Must have RN licensure in Texas and be board certified by either ANCC or AANP. 

    Prior experience working with pain management patients

    Must have prior experience with pain management or spine/ or ortho (Requirement)
