Coding Compliance Specialist jobs in Sumter, SC

Coding Compliance Specialist researches and develops the pre-certification insurance policy standards and criteria used by case management and utilization reviewers that will ensure that requested medical services are appropriate and medically necessary. Collaborates with medical professionals to resolve questions about policy development and standards. Being a Coding Compliance Specialist assigns correct ICD, CPT, or other coding assignments for medical procedures that support policy standards in claims systems. Provides expertise and solutions to users regarding the appropriate coding for claims. Additionally, Coding Compliance Specialist has broad knowledge of medical coding systems. May require an associate degree in healthcare administration, a related field, or equivalent. Requires AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC). May alternatively require Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification. Typically reports to a manager. The Coding Compliance Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Allied Universal® is hiring a Private Investigator. The Investigator's primary focus is to investigate the insurance claims field for a variety of coverage to include workers' compensation, general liability, property and casualty, disability, life, and healthcare. This individual must have investigative skills to independently conduct all aspects of basic surveillance investigations.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Independently investigate insurance claims field for a variety of coverage to include workers' compensation, general liability, property and casualty, disability, life, and healthcare under close direct supervision
    • Collect information through use of own discretion, and guidance from clients and case managers, by means of personal observation with video and photographic validation

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field desired but not required. Some of our best investigators come from the security, loss prevention and law enforcement fields.

    • Ability to be properly licensed as required by the state in which you currently reside:
    • Private Investigator's license required in the following states prior to applying: Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, Utah, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Maine, and Virginia
    • Georgia applicants must independently complete the 70-hour course necessary to receive a Private Investigator's license prior to applying
    • Must be able to successfully complete the Allied Universal Investigations PI Training/orientation course
    • Must possess a current and valid driver's license
    • Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours and days, including weekends and holidays
