    Holy Cross seeks a dynamic, strategic, and experienced leader to serve as its next Vice President for Advancement. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in developing and leading a best-in-class Advancement program that includes a fully integrated development and alumni relations program as well as campaign planning, donor relations, development communications, and data analytics. This opportunity is a leadership role reporting directly to the President and works in close collaboration with colleagues and peers on the President's leadership team, other key stakeholders throughout the college, and a highly engaged Board of Trustees.     Job Requirements:

    • A minimum of 10 years developing, executing, and implementing a successful comprehensive Advancement program across an enterprise.
    • Substantial leadership and management experience that includes establishing personal and professional credibility, building trust internally and externally, and demonstrating collaborative forward-thinking and a goal-oriented development approach.
    • A deep understanding and knowledge of the complexities of running a comprehensive Advancement program, including annual, major, principal, planned, corporate and foundation giving, and alumni relations within the context of an upcoming campaign.
    • Superior communication skills including engaging speaking skills, strong writing and active listening skills, and an ability to communicate effectively across constituencies.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to navigate a complex environment, to understand and relate effectively with diverse constituents, and to partner in a sophisticated manner across the College community.
    • A track record as a major and principal gift fundraiser and manager of a sophisticated fundraising operation with a leadership role in a comprehensive campaign.
    • An ability to build, motivate, and provide strategic direction and leadership for a high-performance team.
    • Experience serving as a key consultant and advisor to a President or other senior leader on matters of donor and Board relations as they pertain to philanthropic initiatives, and an ability to engage with key stakeholders throughout the institution.
    • An appreciation of difference and a strong commitment to inclusiveness, an understanding of nuance, and the ability to think intentionally with an awareness of the various ways in which the campus is experienced differently by different communities and how that may affect development strategies.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational transformation, provide strategic vision, and be a strategic advisor.
    • Expert knowledge of industry best practices and a holistic understanding of all aspects of Advancement, ideally in higher education. Substantial experience evaluating the strengths of existing fundraising strategies and identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • A desire to deeply engage in the College and local community. The ideal candidate will reflect and embrace Holy Cross's emphasis on academic excellence, focus on educating the whole person, and commitment to a diverse learning community.
    • Extensive knowledge of Advancement principles and industry trends, including in analytics and assessment; ability to build a culture of data-informed decision-making and planning.
    • A Bachelor's degree; advanced degree highly preferred.
    • Experience in higher education is strongly preferred.
