Communications Editor Supervisor supervises a staff of editors who write, prepare, and review content to be used in company publications. Helps develop, maintain, and implement editorial policies and standards and ensure conformance. Being a Communications Editor Supervisor oversees and reviews the team's work product. Monitors accuracy and ensures documents and materials follow organizational standards and branding. Additionally, Communications Editor Supervisor manages project tasks and timelines. Manages the coordination of production and distribution activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Communications Editor Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Communications Editor Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.   • Responsible for supervising, coordinating and monitoring the activities of both in-house and contract fiber technicians for all fiber projects. Negotiates and monitors progress on new build, rebuild, extension, expansion, design and planning. Sets priorities for the fiber team. Assigns tasks and checks work at regular intervals. Customarily and regularly directs the work of at least two or more other full-time employees or their equivalent not limited to quality only, but safety as well.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervises direct and functional reports. Coaches and monitors performance of employees to established goals and objectives.
    • Inspects the quality of work of in-house technicians and contractors regularly, ensuring that all standards (federal, state and Company) are followed.
    • Develops and implements appropriate methods, practices, policies and procedures; informs employees of changed processes.
    • Review and analyze service, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with specifications
    • Develops and assigns work schedules.
    • Ensures that resources (i.e. vehicles, equipment and inventory) are maintained in proper working order
    • Maintain open communications with other departments.
    • Analyze needs and designs for fiber construction projects
    • Perform field walkouts as required
    • Coordinate with engineers and developers in designing the plant; draw and sketch installation and location of equipment and cable; complete bill of materials (BOM) needed for planned construction or fiber span replacements
    • Practices Company safety policies and procedures and ensures they are followed.
    • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
    • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

    Requirements

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent, or

    Relevant Work Experience:

    • 2-5 Years Technical experience splicing and troubleshooting fiber
    • 2-5 Years Supervisory with steady work history preferred
