JOB SUMMARY: The Family and Community Engagement Liaison position, under the supervision of the Federal Program Director coordinates services and provides parent-to-parent support for families with school-aged children targeted as at-risk. The Liaison serves as a communications liaison between families, community agencies, and the school for policies, conduct, positive attendance, and student assistance. The Liaison understands and works effectively with people of differing cultures. The Liaison will establish strong family/school communications by supporting the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) and Student Services on issues that affect the students’ education such as parenting skills, social emotional and attendance. The Liaison may collaborate with PAC and the school administration to address identified needs with the Hopi Junior/Senior High School. The Liaison is committed to helping all students develop skills in the areas of personal-social growth and educational planning and notes the importance of including family and community members to be part of this development.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge and ability to provide training for parents
Ability to maintain accurate records and reports on parent participation
Knowledge and ability to develop collect, analyze, and translate data on Parent, Family and Community involvement
Knowledge and ability to develop, design, coordinate and implement engaging educational events for students and families
Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques and skills in monitoring and correcting student behavior
Knowledge of relevant Hopi Junior/Senior High School district rules of conduct and ethics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Obtained an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree.
Two years minimum of successful job experience conducting similar activities.
Hopi Preference in employment considered.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School year contract (10 months). Salary and work year established by the Governing Board per administrative salary schedule.
