Job Description: The Community Outreach Coordinator plays a crucial role in developing and executing outreach strategies to enhance M.I. Lewis's presence in the community. This role involves identifying and fostering new partnerships, managing volunteer relations, and supporting fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities: Community Engagement: ∙
Recruit and oversee program volunteers. ∙Support the Program Manager in organizing annual events such as Thanksgiving distribution and Back to School Community fair. ∙Collaborate with the Executive Director on fundraising activities, including annual fundraisers. ∙Establish new fundraising initiatives within the community. ∙Maintain the Bloomerang database and other engagement tracking tools. ∙Assist the Program Manager in generating and reviewing periodic reports. ∙Update and maintain the agency website. ∙Manage and update all social media platforms. ∙Produce a monthly newsletter for donors and volunteers.
Outreach Development:
∙Manage all community food drives. ∙Develop and nurture relationships with community organizations, especially those supporting patients and minorities, to raise awareness of clinical trials. ∙Coordinate and attend events with community groups and sites to facilitate communication.
Additional Responsibilities:
∙This role may include additional responsibilities as required by the evolving needs of the organization.
Education and Experience: ∙Bachelor's degree preferred, or 3 years of experience in sales, marketing, communications, or outreach activities. ∙Proven organizational ability with strong attention to detail. ∙Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher, Outlook) and project management software. ∙Prior experience in website development is a plus.
Requirements: ∙Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills. ∙Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. ∙Strong time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills (written and oral). ∙Previous experience in nonprofit organizations preferred. ∙Professionalism, a high degree of urgency and self-motivation, and a strong work ethic are essential.
