    For over 30 years, ATASK has been at the forefront of empowering Asian survivors of domestic violence and abuse to rebuild their lives. Our work bridges language and cultural gaps for Asian communities and advocates for social change.

    About the role:

    ATASK is seeking a highly organized and collaborative individual with a strong understanding of social justice and cultural humility to assume a leadership role in ATASK’s outreach and community engagement efforts. Reporting directly to the Co-Executive Director, the Outreach and Community Engagement Manager will spearhead initiatives aimed at cultivating, nurturing, and sustaining community relationships. This pivotal role is instrumental in steering public outreach, engagement, and communication strategies crucial to heightening awareness and enhancing access to services for Asian victims.

    Key responsibilities include the development and execution of comprehensive outreach and community engagement strategies, outreach to providers and businesses in Asian hubs to inform them of ATASK services, development and facilitation of trainings, data collection, grant support, and collaboration with ATASK programs and external partners to address issues affecting Asian and other marginalized communities. This role also entails serving as an ambassador for ATASK's mission and vision.

    In addition to these responsibilities, the Outreach and Community Engagement Manager will play a supervisory role, overseeing the work of the Outreach and Community Engagement Specialist and program interns. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to ATASK's mission by fostering impactful connections and addressing the unique needs of Asian and other underserved communities.

    Location and Commitments:

    · Full-Time, exempt, 40 hour/week

    · Hybrid model, including both in-person and remote work. In-person work is expected at community events, outreach and tabling’s.

    · 9am-5pm on weekdays, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend special events or activities.

    · Primary service areas are Greater Boston and Greater Lowell. Work will also include outreach to growing Asian hubs outside of Boston and Lowell in an effort to reach less resourced and underserved Asian residents and communities.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supervise the Outreach and Community Engagement (O&C) Specialist and O&C Interns.
    • Develop and execute a strategic outreach and community engagement plan that aligns with our goals, resources and target groups. Work with other ATASK departments to support overall outreach, education and community organizing strategy
    • Facilitate the development of outreach and information/awareness material, and work in collaboration with other staff on content.
    • Develop and conduct provider trainings on DV in the Asian community, DV 101 and other topics as needed.
    • Provide onboarding trainings about ATASK Outreach and Community Engagement program to staff. Support ATASK Clinical Manager in providing ATASK in-service and onboarding trainings
    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, providers and stakeholders (mainstream DV and SA organizations, academic institutions, community groups/leaders, providers, etc.) to facilitate referrals, partnerships and organizing efforts.
    • Have an active presence in the community, which includes attending coalition and community meetings and community events.
    • Coordinate and facilitate community engagement activities including managing logistics, such as ordering of supplies, event promotion, event cost management, event staff/volunteer scheduling, transportation of materials (events may include cultural festivals, roundtables, rallies, marches, tabling events)
    • Develop data system for collecting data on O&E efforts, dissemination of outreach material, and demographic and geographic info of Asian community. Assess gaps in service delivery, via community engagement and data analysis.
    • Collaborate with Social Media and Development staff on ATASK social media presence
    • Keep up to date on ATASK policy initiatives and support ATASK policy work.
    • Participate in ATASK ASAP (Asian Shelter and Advocacy Program) meetings, providing updates, informing of community events and projects.
    • Build cross communication and collaboration with other ATASK programs.
    • Keep up to date on culturally responsive practices
    • Provide general administrative and office support, as needed;
    • Perform other duties, as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • The ideal candidate will have experience in people-facing and/or project-based work and enjoy connecting with people from diverse backgrounds in order to build lasting relationships
    • Demonstrated skills in project management, public relations, community engagement and outreach.
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or can be substituted with a minimum of 5 years’ related experience.
    • Bilingual English/Khmer, or English/Mandarin speaking preferred, not required
    • Strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and dependability
    • Excellent organizational, managerial, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Self-starter and self-motivated with attention to detail.
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
    • Excellent computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office and Office 365
    • Valid driver’s license/vehicle insurance and reliable transportation preferred.
    • Ability to pass a background check (CORI) required
