Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Outreach Specialist to join our team. As an Outreach Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting our organization's mission and connecting with the community. You will be responsible for conducting outreach activities, recruiting volunteers, managing programs, and developing partnerships to support our initiatives.
Duties:
- Collect and analyze data to identify target populations and develop effective outreach strategies
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for outreach events and programs
- Conduct outreach activities to raise awareness about substance use disorder, codependency & trauma and provide information on available resources
- Collaborate with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to develop partnerships and expand outreach efforts
- Assist individuals in accessing addiction counseling services, treatment programs, and support groups
- Market our organization's services through various channels, including social media, community events, and presentations
- Plan and organize fundraising events to support program development and sustainability
- Provide supervision and guidance to program staff and volunteers
- Participate in program development activities to enhance the effectiveness of outreach initiatives
- Collaborate with social workers, healthcare professionals, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care for individuals in need
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience in conducting outreach activities and engaging with diverse populations
- Knowledge of public health issues related to addiction counseling and treatment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information to individuals from different backgrounds
- Experience in volunteer management and program development
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis for program evaluation purposes
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
