Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist jobs in Sioux City, IA
Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist coordinates initiatives designed to promote and represent the organization and brand as a socially responsible force in the community. Administers outreach programs that engage, support, and collaborate with the community to develop and expand relationships. Being a Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist serves as the organization's liaison with various constituents and stakeholders. Assists with the coordination of events, managing volunteers, and applying for grants. Additionally, Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be a Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience. Buena Vista University seeks an energetic and student-focused Coordinator for Community and Student Engagement who has the desire to make a difference as a member of the student success team. The successful applicant will develop opportunities for students to enjoy entertainment as well as educational programming through the efforts of the Student Activities Board (SAB) and the Department of Community and Student Engagement. The coordinator will take the lead on Homecoming, and Family weekend; and oversee student organizations and our internal events platform, Campus Groups.
Qualified applicants must be highly motivated, creative, flexible, detail-focused, and adaptable to changing environments, and possess excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills. The individual must be available some nights and weekends. A master’s degree in student affairs or a comparable program is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree is required and previous experience in programming is preferred.
