Position Summary
The Salvation Army Fargo Corps Community Engagement Director oversees all aspects of volunteer engagement and promotes The Salvation Army to increase community involvement, support, and funding. The Director also coordinates special events.
M-F 7:30am-4:30pm, occasional evenings or weekends for events

Essential Functions (Approximate time spent)
* Create, organize, and execute special events (e.g., social services, fundraising, Christmas Red Kettle Campaign). (40%)
* Manage the recruitment, training, placement, and retention of volunteers. (25%)
* Cultivate, solicit, and steward donor relations and sponsorships (e.g., attend community events, develop community relations campaigns, and coordinate celebration and recognition events). (25%)
* Manage media relations and social media content. (10%)
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in related field. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Previous experience in volunteer management, public relations, or related field required.
* Valid driver's license, meet MVR driver's qualifications, and pass background check.
Competencies
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
* Proficient using PC, Microsoft Office, and databases.
* High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.
* Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence.
Working Conditions
* Mostly sedentary work, sitting for long periods of time and working on a computer.
