Compensation Manager leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives. Being a Compensation Manager ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to current compensation strategy. Directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Intermountain has multiple offices in Idaho, Utah, Oregon, Washington and Montana. Additionally, we can provide some claim services in portions of Nevada, Wyoming and Colorado. We have a Property & Casualty claims division, a Workers' Compensation claims division, and have a fire investigation team through our IC Specialty Services division. We are recognized by AMBest and are active members of multiple national and regional claims organizations.

    Job Duties & Job Requirements

    This is a position that involves working closely with insurers and self-insured employers. Typical job duties include:

    • Investigate and evaluate both time-loss and medical-only claims, coordinate early return to work, determine and pay benefits owed, and establish action plans that lead to the resolution of claims.
    • Communicate with insurers, medical providers, attorneys, and injured workers.
    • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to document work activities in writing.
    • Position requires proficient data entry/keyboard/computer system skills.
    • Requires excellent customer service, organizational, and analytical skills.
    • Preference given to applicants with a State of Montana Claims Examiner Certification
