  • Primary Function:

    The position will assist the Manager of Regulatory Compliance in implementation of compliance systems and requirements. This position will also help in maintaining systems, training platforms, help in managing the SharePoint site, and completion of KPI’s and other reports.


    This role will assist in managing the organics program and will be part of the recall and traceability team. This position will act as the back-up for the Manager of Regulatory Compliance, Training, Organics, Recall and Traceability being fully trained to cover as needed in the absence of the Manager.

    Primary Responsibilities:


    • Assist the manager to ensure all required permits and approvals. This will also include helping to maintaining other programs and processes to ensure compliance. This includes compliance to the TSA, import permitting, USDA inspection and Phyto Sanitary inspection requests, and other Environmental and Safety requirements.
    • Help to manage systems to help drive compliance to regulatory standards, 3rd party and industry standards and requirements and Mastronardi internal policies and procedures.
    • Maintains and tracks KPIs for all functions of the Department.
    • Works with the training team to implement and use the LMS platform for training within the Dept. Assist in maintaining the content in the training platforms and tracking compliance. This will include maintaining content on the SharePoint site, internal folders and other LMS and training systems.
    • Help in managing the Organic approval and permitting process for the company. That includes completing the permitting and registration process for all sites, scheduling the required audits and help oversee the organics program.
    • This position will be part of the traceability and recall team. In the event of a recall being declared by the VP of Food Safety this role will be responsible for overseeing the execution and close out of the recall.

    • This position will act as the back-up for the Manager of Regulatory Compliance, Training, Organics, Recall and Traceability being fully trained to cover as needed in the absence of the Manager.
    • As a part of the recall and traceability team, you will be required to be contacted and available after hours to address emergencies and technical issue for a 24 x 7 distribution operation.


    Education/Background Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field;, with a minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in the food
    • Strong computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Understanding of NAV or other ERP systems, experience with compliance management, learning management and systems to track and develop KPIs.

    Working Conditions:


    • Normal office environment varied with exposure to an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
    • Must be capable of lifting to 30 lbs.
    • Limited overnight travel may be required for this role.
