Compliance Manager Overview
As the Compliance Manager, you will partner with the Director of Compliance to lead and support the
Compliance team. This will include maintaining and overseeing all contractor compliance functions and
ensuring processes comply with federal and state regulations, Department of Transportation
requirements, and our Company policy. As the team’s advisor, you will be responsible for training,
reviewing, and managing all compliance issues and the process of onboarding new independent
contractors.
This individual will be an essential part of UST’s growth and success, built upon the expectation that
EVERY team member will “Execute Excellence Every time”—known internally as E3.
Responsibilities
(include, but are not limited to)
• Responsible for Independent Contractors’ complex insurance scenarios
• Liaison with existing agents and help develop agent resources in underdeveloped areas, anticipate
needs with start-ups, etc.
• Identifies trends, exposure and escalates with recommendations/solutions
• Manages insurance projects
• Improve upon the current process for securing insurance, providing proof thereof, and conducting
periodic reviews
• Identifies and helps mitigate risk on Enterprise/Interchange/Corporate insurance policy
• Maintenance of Compliance and Contractor profile databases and updating employee user credentials
and any applicable third-party systems
• Manage contractor/driver compliance by maintaining accurate and updated profiles, collecting
necessary documentation for expired compliance items, and notifying contractors/drivers of any
upcoming expirations
• Oversee contractor/driver on-boarding and verification of all process requirements
• Manage contractor/driver termination process, ensuring all documentation and communication have
been completed per the Independent Trucking Agreement and Company policy. This includes proper

• Manage Independent Contractor insurance program, working with provider/broker and all field
management to ensure required coverages are communicated
• Provide backup support to other team/group members in the performance of job duties assigned

Requirements
• Demonstrated insurance expertise and the ability to remain current on market trends, opportunities,
and challenges in the insurance market
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Effectively utilize compliance systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Experience in process improvement and implementation
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and field partners
• Make independent judgments that have considerable impacts on the organization
