TITLE: Computer Operator

QUALIFICATIONS:            

1. High school diploma - two years college preferred.
2. Typing skills at 50 wpm at a computer keyboard.
3. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
4. Highly accurate in clerical work.
5. Ability to converse with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
6. Required score on the TABE test.
7. Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of the performance responsibilities listed below.

REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL:  To operate the school computer system to minimize paperwork tasks for teachers and administrators.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collects daily attendance reports and records information using Osiris.
2.  Admits tardy students, sending them to class with appropriate slip.
3.  Confers with parents on daily absences.
4.  Accurately maintains state attendance registers for homeroom teachers – recording absences, tardies, and suspensions where appropriate.
5. Counsels students in matters of attendance and tardiness and makes every effort to gain their cooperation.
6. Investigates attendance problems and reports findings to principal and guidance. 
7. Maintains a file of referrals, counseling, and action taken.
8. Assists school secretary as needed.
9. Maintains computer file of students, parents, faculty, and staff.
10. Implements the various software programs as directed by the principal.
11. Keeps abreast of new developments in computer application through district in-service training.
12. Informs the principal of potential problem areas in the software implementation.
13. Other duties as requested. 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  SC30 Pay Scale. 220 Day Contract. Work year to be established by the district.
