Corporate Giving Director identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and implements strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Director manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives. Additionally, Corporate Giving Director maintains current knowledge of best practices in corporate giving and philanthropy. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Giving Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Giving Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     General:

    The Corporate Giving Administrator is responsible for identifying, securing, cultivating, developing, and overseeing relationships with existing corporate donors and new prospects in support of Animal Friends Alliance’s strategic objectives. This person should greatly enjoy networking and building relationships within the community. Additionally, the Corporate Giving Administrator works collaboratively with the rest of the Development team by assisting with community events, donor appreciation events, and fundraising events.


    Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintains and recruits corporate donors (local, national, and international) for annual event sponsorship, Business Partners in Animal Welfare (BizPAWS), and other giving programs, as assigned.
    • Onboards and acknowledges new corporate donors, and recognizes increases in giving.
    • Stewards and cultivates members through regular contact and recognition.
    • Maintains proper records to ensure all promised recognition is received, and properly offboards any lapsed members.
    • Regularly attends networking events and other community events to build local relationships.
    • Develops innovative approaches to generate new and higher levels of giving for new and existing corporate partners.
    • Enlists senior management, volunteers and board members in the cultivation and solicitation of major donors and prospects that integrate into the overall department goals and strategic plan.
    • Maintains and manages a list of corporate leads, and consistently reaches out to corporate giving prospects.
    • Speaks in the community to inform on Animal Friends Alliance programs, services, and giving opportunities.
    • Actively participates in weekly development meetings, and reports out to the rest of the team on corporate giving.
    • Assists with the planning and implementation of donor appreciation events and fundraising events.
    • With the Director of Philanthropy, Executive Director and other key staff, develops annual strategic goals for corporate giving that include objectives, goals, strategies, tactics, measurements and contingency plans.
    • Performs research and prepares reports and/or other data as requested by the Director of Philanthropy.
    • Acts as Animal Friends Alliance’s spokesperson as assigned.
    • Identifies and researches grant opportunities through private and corporate foundations.
    • Prepares written proposals and other informational materials needed to secure corporate gifts.
    • Professionally and clearly articulates Animal Friends Alliance’s vision and funding priorities verbally and in writing to prospects and donors.

    Other Duties:

    • Attends weekly departmental meetings and other appropriate team meetings, and one-on-one meetings with direct supervisor.
    • Attends quarterly staff meetings with the full Animal Friends Alliance team.

    • Represents Animal Friends Alliance in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
    • Provides quality service to customers, volunteers, and staff, recognizing their individual contributions to Animal Friends Alliance. Monitors, supports, motivates and champions volunteers and their work.
    • Solicits monetary and in-kind donations by raising awareness of the organization's work, goals, and financial needs.
    • Follows all safety rules to ensure a safe work environment at all times. Takes immediate action to address any safety concerns or noncompliance issues that could put an animal, employee, volunteer, visitor, or the organization at risk.
    • Learns basic duties of other departments, and supports other departments and staff.
    • Monitors, supports, motivates and accredits volunteers and their work.
    • Understands and operates by Animal Friends Alliance’s core values.
    • Regular and timely presence onsite.

    Work Environment:

    • Work performed in an office setting.
    • Potential for exposure to zoonotic diseases and cleaning chemicals.

    Unusual Demands:

    • Work is subject to frequent interruptions.
    • Employee is subject to work weekends and beyond the normal scheduled hours of work.

    Requirements

    Education/Experience

    Education:

    • Required: 2 years of college or equivalent work experience.
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree of equivalent work experience.

    Experience:

    • Required: 3-5 years’ related experience and demonstrated success in fundraising or business partnerships.
    • Preferred: 5 years related experience and demonstrated success in fundraising or business partnerships.

    Miscellaneous:

    • Valid Driver’s License: Required
    • Sincere interest in Animal Friends Alliance’s mission and vision.
    • This is a full time position budgeted for 40 hours per week.

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of donor development and recognition.
    • Knowledge of corporate giving/partnerships.
    • Knowledge of Google Suites, including Gmail and Google Drive.
    • Experience with database management and donor CRMs in particular.
