    Elior North America is looking for a Director, General Accounting to join our Corporate Team in our Ridgeland, MS office. This role is part of our Shared Services team that supports the mission of our 1800 accounts across the US.     Job/Role Overview:

    Candidate is responsible for overseeing multiple shared service functions including the General Accounting, Fixed Asserts and Fleet Management functions. This role is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies. This role and teams work closely with the Corporate Controller and Treasury Teams including audit support.

    What you'll be doing:


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Direct the General Accounting, Fixed Assets & Fleet Management shared service functions for multiple Elior Brand customers relying on a detailed understanding of the business and connecting it with results to help influence and drive better overall company results.
    • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general accounting department including team activities to ensure effective communication, collaboration with other areas of the organization and establishing & maintaining working partnerships cross-functionally.
    • Manage, develop and mentor a team of 14 accounting and administrative professionals.
    • Develop, implement and maintains systems, procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
    • Manages weekly and monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of financial statements.
    • Provides accounting assistance to field managers and operations staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
    • Partner with other Shared Services finance functions, Tax, FP&A, payroll, business unit finance and treasury functions close activities and process improvements.
    • Partner with IT on system change requests, timely resolution of close/reporting issues, along with continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements and/or changes.
    • Acts as a liaison between the company, government and external auditors to meet information needs and to ensure internal controls are working effectively and propose improvements to support evolving accounting environment.
    • Oversee any non-recurring projects like optimization of systems
    • Responsible for accounting system updates and/or conversions
    • Support or manage other ad-hoc projects

    What we're looking for:


    • Experience working with IFRS accounting principles and accounting software
    • Great Plains ERP experience preferred
    • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with general accounting, month end close procedures, controls, internal reporting & analytics, and working with external auditors.
    • Ability to effectively support the transactional components of the role As well as the Analytical components of the role (General Accounting)
    • Deep knowledge of accounting; conceptual and practical experience in researching, understanding, and communicating technical accounting issues.
    • Strong leadership, analytical, critical thinking, and project management skills.
    • Ability to work on cross functional activities and form solid business relationships.
    • Proven close process improvement experience.
    • Approachable and collaborative style.
    • Seen as a subject matter expert, strong team leader, and valued partner with the business.
    • Ability to serve as a change agent to their team and the organization.


    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • Ten or more years of Accounting experience
    • Five or more years of leadership experience
    • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, and upper management
    • Excellent communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
    • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting processes
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
    • Prior experience working in a Shared Services organization is preferred
