Role:
The Card and Payments Product Manager is tasked with analyzing and assessing the effectiveness, profitability, usage, competitiveness, and overall performance of all card and payment products at Rogue Credit Union. This role will work closely with all levels of internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop, implement, and enhance the card and payment product and service portfolio by supporting the organization's strategic goals and objectives, Vision, Mission, and Values. The Card and Payments Product Manager serves as the subject matter expert for the functionality, positioning, promotion, and member experience of all debit and credit cards and payment services.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
30% Analyzes cards and payments products, services, and delivery methods using quantitative and qualitative data to assess profitability, member value and impact, utilization, performance, efficiency, competitiveness, risk, processes, compliance, member and staff experience, and pricing. Develops periodic and ad hoc reporting with narrative to educate and inform cross functional stakeholders across all levels of the organization and vendors. Proposes recommendations and changes to drive and optimize desired results.
30% Evaluate, develop, and implement new card and payment product and servicing offerings, including new features to existing products and services, to meet member needs and exceed service and experience expectations, stay competitive in the market, and remain top of wallet. Partners with vendors to understand product and service roadmaps, plan testing, delivery, and implementation of new features and understand and communicate key opportunities and risks. Performs ongoing competitive analysis of products and services and propose and implement changes to exceed market expectations.
15% Perform ongoing review, monitoring, support, and analysis of all cards product and payment services compliance in relation to all network, regulatory, and operational laws, policies, and rules. Maintains ongoing awareness of rules and regulation changes and anticipate and socialize all potential impacts. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to cure and resolve any deficiencies and compliance gaps.
15% Serves as internal subject matter expert for all cards and payment products on projects, process improvements, new product development and implementation, promotions and external communications, profitability analyses, budget performance and forecasting. Helps position products and services by channel and appropriateness of use by partnering with delivery partners and enhancing member experiences.
10% Proactively performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience. Experience working for a financial institution is a plus.
Education: (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in
lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills: Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Eye for detail, accuracy, and quality. Strong creative thinking, analytical, and complex problem-solving skills. High level of member service and interpersonal skills required to be successful include loyalty, trustworthiness, and the ability to instill confidence in people. Effective written and oral communication skills. Functional skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies, requirements elicitation, documentation, and project management. SQL and Tableau experience highly desired.
Physical Requirements: Some adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers while using computer. Communicating with others to exchange information. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound. Close and continuous visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
Work Environment: This job is an exempt position that requires flexibility in scheduling tasks and projects. The employee must independently monitor hours and judge the time needed to be spent on applicable duties. As a direct representative of the Credit Union, the employee must conduct and present themselves courteously and professionally. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, i.e., robbery.
