Credit and Collections Director leads the overall credit function. Designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Being a Credit and Collections Director develops policies regarding the investigation of customers, extension of credit lines, and collections. Consults with current and future clients regarding their level of credit. Additionally, Credit and Collections Director oversees the negotiation and course of action taken for overdue accounts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Credit and Collections Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Credit and Collections Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     NHBB is looking for a Credit and Collections Manager to join our Corporate Finance Team.

    As the Credit and Collections Manager you will be responsible for developing and administering credit and collection programs. Oversee investigation of credit risk in customers and suppliers and advise on course of action for credit applications. Design and implement processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Monitor and negotiate the collection of overdue accounts. Monitor credit and collection processes and operations; makes recommendations on opportunities for improvement.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in Accounting or Finance
    • CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.

    Experience:

    • 5 years' experience in a similar role, managerial role in finance or accounting for a manufacturing company

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work with other departments in the efficient processing of member complaints, requests and disputes.
    • Supervise staff to collect on delinquent accounts in line with credit union policies and procedures. Also oversee staff scheduling, task assignment, training and performance management
    • Monitor and update procedures to ensure compliance and adherence. Recommend updates to policy as needed.
    • Oversee all activities related to delinquent and/or troubled accounts and make recommendations to management on their resolution
    • Oversee the process of securing credit union collateral including monitoring force placed insurance
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Abilities:

    • An ability to work with others including corporate management, divisional management, supervision, employees and customers.
    • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities; problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
    • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and demonstrated initiative with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
    • Extremely strong interpersonal verbal and written communications, especially when dealing with customers and employees.
    • Communicate with other departments as needed.
    • Ability to train and coach personnel in all aspects of company credit policies and procedures.
    • Proficient in computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite) with the ability to learn new software as required.
    • Attention to detail.

    Other Requirements:

    • Domestic Travel of up to 20%.
    • Willingness to come in early/stay late without direction to complete time sensitive tasks.
    • Very high level of organizational and time management skills.
