Critical Care Director jobs in Bedford, NH

Performs diversified clinical, educational, research, and administrative duties in support of critical care patients, the Medical Staff and SICU/CCU Staff. Participates in the development and achievement of the philosophies, goals and missions of the SICU/CCU, Cardiac Services, and the organization. Work in collaboration with Critical Care nurse practitioners, Pulmonary & Critical Care physicians, and Cardiothoracic & Vascular surgeons to provide care in this challenging and rewarding environment.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Generally, Monday through Friday, work schedule may include eight to twelve hours per day with weekend coverage based on department and patient needs. Personnel are expected to cover for absences by rotating or working extra shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Successful completion of a basic nursing program and an accredited nurse practitioner program.

• Must be certified by a National Certification Corporation.

Experience:

• Knowledge of expanded practice skills and in-depth knowledge of critically ill adults including cardiothoracic patients.

• Minimum of five years recent critical care and cardiac surgery experience (may be concurrent) which may include both RN and APRN practice.

Licensure/Certification:

• Must be nationally certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANP. Must be a licensed APRN in New Hampshire with current ACLS certification.

• DEA number

• CCRN, National Certification Corporation or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Must be completed through the American Heart Association.

• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. Must be completed through the American Heart Association.
