Being a Critical Care Director ensures quality care to patients. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Critical Care Director typically reports to top management. The Critical Care Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Critical Care Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     • Registered Nurses with more than 3 years of experience: $20,000 (full time)

    Nursing Float Pool – CRITICAL CARE TRACK

    The Nursing Float Pool is seeking nurses with acute-care experience and an interest in holding a cross-trained position in critical care areas, including the Special Care Unit (ICU) and the Emergency Department.

    Nurses in this progressive position will build upon a Medical Surgical and Intermediate Care skill base through specialized training in critical care areas. Once training is complete, these nurses will be able to care for a broader acuity range and continue to grow in their profession within this dynamic position.

    • Ability to float between multiple Medical-Surgical units, Special Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department, with the training to care for patients of all acuity levels in each area.
    • 12-hours shifts (7am-7pm, 7pm-7am)
    • Amplify your nursing skill set by bridging into critical care through this track, gain experience within an expanded specialty of patients and diagnoses.

    Position Summary

    The health care work force of the future should have the knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered, community-focused, cost-effective, clinically effective, coordinated care. To do these things successfully, the work force must be competent, flexible, and adaptive to changes in health care delivery and technology. The Registered Nurse is responsible for performance of complex, individualized, family-oriented nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures under the direct supervision of a charge/shift leader RN.


    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    • Education: BSN preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Current licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing as an R.N. required. BLS and ability to perform CPR required. ACLS preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of one-year acute care experience as an R.N. preferred.
