Job Description
Position works with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Office of Academic Affairs at the Newhouse School. Under the supervision of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, this position is responsible for curriculum management and coordination, catalog maintenance, course scheduling, and support curriculum forecasting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Knowledge of Excel required.
- Overall requires excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, strong writing skills to create correspondence and data pieces.
- Solid judgement to make decisions and report them to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
- Works with confidential information so discretion and tact is required.
- Must be able to balance multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work independently and anticipate and self-direct projects when required.
- Knowledge of SU preferred.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills: organizing and maintaining records, files, and databases, office equipment and inventory.
- The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of faculty, staff, and students in different ways.
- Clarifying complex information, both written and verbal.
- Strong Teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Keeping the broader business goals and objectives in mind while working on tasks.
- Receiving and providing constructive feedback.
- Strong Problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Management of databases.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum management & coordination.
- Catalog maintenance.
- Course scheduling (under the supervision of the associate dean for academic affairs and oversight of the director of academic operations and analysis).
- Support curriculum forecasting.
