Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Under the supervision of the Camp Directors, the curriculum specialist is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum for a specific specialty area. They must support their fellow camp staff in implementing this curriculum, identifying, and meeting camper needs, leading, and guiding a group of campers to achieve success in their specialty area of focus.
All of this must be accomplished while maintaining YMCA day camp standards and DPH standards. The Camp Curriculum Specialist will work closely with Camp Leadership in the weeks leading up to Camp Opening to define a complete, age-appropriate rotation of activities, aligning with weekly camp themes and the YMCA’s core values.

Camp Greendale will run for 9 weeks between the dates of 6/24/2024 to 8/23/2024. The camp day will run from 7:30am-6:00pm Monday through Friday.
Work environment and physical demands:
Schedule: M-F 8:30am-4:30pm, additional hours available.
Job Type: Summer Seasonal
Pay: $17.00/hour for newly hired and $17.50/hour for returning Curriculum Specialist that worked last year. Plus access to YMCA facilities to all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave.
