Service Dogs seeks a dedicated dog training professional to assist in the Service Dog training process and to deliver Service Dogs to their clients.

---Qualifications / Requirements

1. Must possess a VALID and UNRESTRICTED drivers license, and have reliable transportation in a vehicle that can travel up to a minimum of 250 miles one-way as needed (500/mi. round-trip).
2. Must have expire with expressing empathy and kindness towards others.
3. Have knowledge of basic canine care and needs.
4. Be proficient in using apple iPhone and windows computer.
5. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Be able to work in outdoor elements such as heat, rain, snow... we do go out to train the dogs in all weathers.
7. Be able to handle conflict - resolution situations and confrontation.
8. Be able to give 3 references for previous employer(s) / professional references.

Job description:

• Consulting with clients to discuss behavioral concerns and training needs.
• Identifying additional behavioral concerns and communicating them to clients.
• Developing suitable training plans for dogs and documenting their progress.
• Teaching dogs to obey basic commands using various training techniques that are best suited to each dog’s personality and attributes.
• Teach canines Service Tasks such as Diabetic Alert / Psychiatric Assist / Hearing Assist etc. (We do offer paid training fro this.)
• Implementing appropriate training programs to address and resolve problem areas, including aggression, separation anxiety, hyperactivity, and biting.
• Ensuring that the training areas are clean and tidy.
• Teaching clients appropriate training methods to enforce and maintain behaviors and skills learned by their dogs during training session.
