Benefits:
Associates of Pathology (AOP) is a private practice pathology group in Ogden, Utah who is looking for a full time cytologist/cytotechnologist. As a leading provider in women’s health within our region, AOP processes over 34,000 Paps (SurePath) per year utilizing the BD focal point for computer guided assistance. This position would require daily screening of Pap smears along with quality assurance measures, and could also include assisting screening Non-GYN specimens if desired. An ideal candidate would have 3 years experience (although not required and new graduates are encouraged to apply). Graduation with a bachelor’s degree and from an accredited Cytology/cytotechnologist program is required. We are looking for a person with good diagnostic and communication skills who can join our team. Utah offers a growing economy and healthcare system with an abundance of both big city and outdoor recreation opportunities.
The position would be Monday-Friday (full time) and comes with a highly competitive salary with full benefits including health insurance coverage and a $5,000 sign on bonus/moving expenses. We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Replying to applicants will be quick, and we will do a Zoom interview prior to setting up a time frame for the applicant to come visit our lab and explore the area.
Expectations:
With our breaks, we screen about 6.5-7 hours daily. Ideally, a candidate would be capable of doing ~12slides/hour, around 78/day (with more experienced cytologists expected to be closer to this number, with less experience/new graduates fine to be lower than that number per hour, but expected to increase over time). All candidates must be expected to take on feedback via scope sessions and with their Quality Assurance reports. Effective communication is a must have with fellow cytologists (currently 4 of us), pathologists (4), and all office staff. We keep track of our work on a digital cytology report via excel sheets on google drive, our LIS system is PowerPath. We currently manually enter molecular results, with that changing soon to be automatically input via an update to our molecular instruments.
