Data Center Director directs and optimizes all operations of a data center facility to ensure data performance, availability, and security. Designs operating procedures and policies for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and storage systems within a data center to maximize operational efficiency. Being a Data Center Director monitors environmental conditions to ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and power supply to prevent downtime and protect hardware from damage. Ensures timely, accurate, and consistent technical infrastructure service and presentation to internal and external clients. Additionally, Data Center Director coordinates with outside teams to identify and implement new systems to support existing and future business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Center Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Data Center Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Data Center Technician:

    The Data Center Technician will have responsibility for the operations and maintenance at the client’s data center. The candidate will take daily direction from the client’s engineering leadership on-site. Responsibilities include the support of all data center engineering and technology operations, facility and grounds maintenance, and other site support functions. They will be part of a team that is accountable for the operational performance readiness, reliability, and integrity of the mission-critical infrastructure systems and IT systems.

    Data Center Technician Level 1 Information and Requirements:

    • Knowledge of how to properly utilize power tools is required
    • Ability to follow precise instructions
    • Perform material movement including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process
    • Detailed physical inventory tracking and staging
    • Ability to read and understand cabling maps
    • Perform Data Center pre-cabling to industry standards
    • Must be able to lift over 50lbs
    • Ability to work at different heights, in confined spaces, and on different surfaces
    • Working knowledge on creating, closing, and tracking work orders
    • Initiate or respond to work orders, follow up, and verify completion
    • Manage or navigate various client-based applications that might include work order tacking, materials ordering/tracking, scheduling, and video conferencing
    • Ability to use mobile application technology
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Gain proficiency in workplace IT systems for reporting, timecards, expense entry, and the execution of project tasks. Examples SalesForce, ADP, Expensify)
    • Timely responsiveness via MS Outlook, MS Teams, text, and/or phone

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
    • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
    • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
    • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
    • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
    • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
    • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
    • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
    • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
    • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
    • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
