Data Science Director establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals of the data science function. Provides strategic guidance and overall direction for analytical efforts. Being a Data Science Director determines the appropriate tools, techniques, staffing and methodologies to extract data that produces meaningful results. Uses extensive knowledge and research into big data tools to guide the integration of new and existing tools into the organization's data science tech stack. Additionally, Data Science Director typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Data Science Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. This position will play a critical role in leading and advancing our data-driven marketing strategy across all ASUEP internal entities such as the ASU Foundation, Outreach Hub, ASULink and the ASU Academic, Knowledge, and Learning Enterprises which include clients such as ASU Online, CareerCatalyst, and others. The Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing innovative data science solutions that drive measurable results in key areas such as donor engagement, attribution, marketing campaign optimization, student and learner recruitment, and constituent relationship management. What you’ll do: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing data science strategy aligned with ASUEP's overall marketing goals and objectives. Identify and prioritize key data science projects that address critical business needs and provide significant ROI. Collaborate across the organization with stakeholders and other subject matter experts. Develop and maintain expertise in leading AI/ML platforms including but not limited to the Google Cloud Platform and Google Marketing Platform technologies. Design and implement data pipelines for collecting, cleaning, and integrating data from various sources. Develop and deploy predictive models using machine learning techniques to optimize marketing campaigns, personalize constituent experiences, and predict future outcomes. Analyze data and communicate insights to key stakeholders to inform strategic decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across ASUEP and ASU to ensure data-driven decision-making is integrated throughout the community. Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in marketing data science and identify opportunities to leverage new technologies. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust data science infrastructure and processes. Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure successful project completion. What you'll need: Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries and University business and confidential prospect information. Team-oriented strategist able to effectively manage complex situations involving numerous and sometimes competing constituencies. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful data science solutions that have driven measurable results. Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform, Google Marketing Platform technologies and/or equivalent technologies. Applied experience developing attribution models, propensity models, and user personas to predict outcomes, drive constituent engagement, and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies. Passion for innovation and commitment to continuous learning. Relevant qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. 7 years of experience in marketing data science or a related field.
