Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. We opened our doors to 66 6th grade students in the fall of 2023 in Jersey City, NJ. We will add an additional grade of 66 students this fall.

    We are seeking a dynamic Middle School Dean of Culture with a demonstrated ability to achieve academic and social-emotional outcomes for students. This role will start July 1, 2024. This role will report to the Co-CEO: School Leader of Programming.

    As the Middle School Dean of Culture at Kindle Education, you will:

    • Lead the cultivation of a joyful and respectful community, building positive relationships among students, staff, and families to enhance the school's values and promote a culture that respects and celebrates diversity.
    • Proactively develop and implement systems and strategies to ensure a positive and focused learning environment and address behavioral challenges effectively, using data-driven decision-making to inform interventions and restorative practices.
    • Champion restorative practices, guiding restorative circles and conflict resolution efforts to support a nurturing and supportive school culture, emphasizing the importance of understanding and empathy in conflict resolution.
    • Train staff to effectively implement systems and strategies, empowering them with the skills and knowledge needed to foster a supportive, restorative, and dynamic learning environment, ensuring all staff members are equipped to support diverse learning needs and cultural backgrounds.
    • Lead the organization and execution of community events and initiatives, fostering school spirit, inclusivity, and a strong sense of belonging among all school members, and actively engaging families and community partners in the school’s culture.
    • Support the Co-CEO in maintaining a strategic approach to supervising teachers, focusing on classroom observation and data analysis. Help hold teachers accountable, ensure they fulfill their responsibilities, and provide feedback to maintain high culture standards and effective team management.
    • Collaborate closely with the leadership team and Co-CEOs to ensure alignment and implementation of school-wide systems and structures for student and staff culture, including efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion within the school community.
    • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Co-CEOs, always with an eye towards fostering an inclusive, respectful, and data-informed school environment.

    This is a 12-month position. We provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that places a premium on your needs and those of your family. The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 based on experience.
