Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Continuing Education typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • SUMMARY:

    The Academic Dean serves as the Chief Academic Officer and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the campus-based educational programs offering Baccalaureate and Associate of Science Degrees and Certificates of Completion in medical and technical career fields.

    The Academic Dean functions to fulfill the vision, mission, and values of the College in accordance with the rules and regulations of all appropriate external governing/regulatory agencies and under the policies and procedures of the College. The Academic Dean is responsible for providing leadership for all aspects of the educational environment of the College as it relates to both faculty and students.

    The Academic Dean is responsible for maintaining, and in the case of new program development, gaining high quality, accredited nursing, medical and technical education programs whose graduates are competent, sought after, and contribute to helping meet the needs of the local and global community.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Maintains oversight of operations relative to academic aspects to assure the attainment of strategic goals and objectives.

    Guides and evaluates faculty performance.

    Supports curriculum development in cooperation with respective Program Directors and faculty.

    Leads national accreditation and professional programmatic accreditation efforts and processes.

    Develops annual academic budgets and new/developing program budgets.

    Monitors respective departmental operating budgets.

    Participates in preparation of monthly financial analysis and variance reports, including plans of correction, if necessary.

    Determines faculty workload assignments within established workload policy.

    Leads in short and long range strategic planning with development of operational plans to effect goal achievement.

    Serves as representative for the College within the community, other educational institutions, and with key constituents.

    Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

    Completes all annual education and competency requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

    Master's degree in education or a related field.

    Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as Academic Dean.

    Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in academic affairs management.

    Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience working in education/academia field.

    Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 8:00am - 5:00pm, Friday from 8:00am - 3:00pm

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
