Dean of Continuing Education manages administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Continuing Education leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Continuing Education requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Continuing Education manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Continuing Education typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     The Director of Facilities Logistics is the first point of contact to the Facilities Department. The Director, in coordination with his/her peers the Director will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling and communication on all Facilities Projects and Tasks. The Director will be responsible for coordinating any Facilities services to the College Community.


    Job Duties

    Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

    • Lead the Facilities Logistics planning on major events such as New Student Orientation, Discover Dean Day, Commencement, Homecoming, Golf Tournament, and other events.
    • Be the direct point of contact for the College Community with requests for facilities services.
    • Develops and manages the department's annual operating budget.
    • Notify the College Community of planned and completed service activities that affect their area or programs.
    • Assign work requests for the set-up coordinators.
    • Work with various departments on campus to coordinate Facilities support of their events and projects.
    • Oversee Postal Services to ensure proper staffing and service protocols.
    • Perform other site and position specific functions as assigned.

    Job Requirements:


    Preparation, Training and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Knowledge of computers and general office skills.
    • Must maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and flexibility in relation to the position.
    • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the College Community, as well as visitors to the Campus.
    • A self-starter who takes great pride in their work product is essential.
    • Must be an effective communicator with good writing skills.

    Managerial and Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Directly supervise all Facilities activities in support of the College Community including the facilities set up coordinators.
