    Pay Frequency: Annual A. POSITION PURPOSE

    Reporting to the Associate Dean, the Assistant Dean of Graduate Business Programs has oversight for operations and goal setting for graduate recruitment, retention, programs, career management, and branding for the graduate programs at the Leavey School of Business. This individual has responsibility for all administrative and service functions associated with Graduate Business Programs from student recruitment through graduation. Functional responsibilities include: recruitment, admissions, financial aid, orientation, student life, advising, records, rankings, external relations, and career management. Work with online programs management provider (Everspring) to ensure smooth functioning of recruiting and student services for online graduate business programs and certificates.

    The position serves as the direct supervisor of two Sr. Directors of Graduate Business Programs; Senior Director of Career Management, Senior Director of Graduate Business Admissions, Senior Director of Admissions, MS Programs. Total responsibility for 15 staff members currently.

    B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Work with Associate Dean to develop and implement a strategic plan for LSB Graduate Business Programs.
    Provide leadership to Graduate Business Programs staff members
    Manage the implementation of new graduate degree and certification programs.
    Responsible for market assessment and recruitment of graduate business students – local & international
    Provide outstanding academic support and advising to LSB graduate students.
    Lead development of professional and effective career management services for graduate students.
    Build and support a vibrant graduate student community.
    Work with other offices on campus to maintain student academic records and implement University and School academic policies.
    Manage and monitor the Graduate Business Programs budget
    Lead data collection and reporting for graduate business program rankings and sit on the rankings committee for LSB.
    Represent the LSB in appropriate national and international organizations and committees.
    Monitor performance of online programs management provider to ensure successful implementation of recruitment, retainment, and program implementation.

    SPECIFIC

    Working with the Associate Dean, develop and implement a strategic plan for LSB Graduate Business Programs.

    Develop and monitor a GBP strategic plan that supports the strategic objectives of the School and the University.
    Allocate human and financial resources to support the strategic goals of the GBP and the LSB.
    Provide leadership to Graduate Business Programs staff members

    Provide leadership, support, and professional development opportunities for GBP staff. Manage the implementation of new graduate degree and certification programs. Responsible for market assessment and recruitment of graduate business students; including local & international
    Collaborate with the Associate Dean to increase the number and quality of applicants and applicant yield in all graduate programs.
    Use key metrics to monitor and evaluate recruiting students in their journey from lead to prospect to applicant to student. Make necessary adjustments to recruiting tactics based on key success indicators.
    Identify various markets for recruitment of prospective students, including international students
    Interview top candidates to help yield them to LSB.
    Contributes comments and evaluations to Admissions Committees.
    Participates in strategy development, reviews, and collaborates on all program advertising and collateral material, working closely with the marketing department.
    Work with Slate and BusinessCAS systems to ensure applications, waivers and events are running smoothly in admissions.
    Works with Senior Directors of Graduate Programs to ensure outstanding academic support and advising to LSB graduate students.

    Works with the Senior Director of Graduate Business

    Career Services to develop effective professional and career management services for graduate students.

    Works with the Senior Directors of Graduate Business Programs and Career Services to build and support a vibrant graduate student community.

    Monitor programs that support a vibrant and professional graduate student community.

    Maintain the MBA Alumni Advisory Board. In collaboration with the Associate Dean, prepare and lead the four board meetings a year, work on new board members and solicit financial support in terms of donations from board members.

    Work with other offices on campus to maintain student academic records and implement University and School academic policies.

    Work closely with academic department chairs, faculty directors, associate deans, and relevant staff to schedule classes and meet students' academic needs effectively and efficiently.

    Manage and monitor the Graduate Business Programs budget

    Efficiently allocate and monitor the GBP's financial resources and budget.

    Lead data collection and reporting for graduate business program rankings

    Lead data collection for various ranking reports and works with IR and the Vice Provost for Graduate Programs on verifying and submitting the data.
    Monitor and report on trends in graduate business education and the potential impact on Santa Clara University.
    Graduate Business Programs brand ambassador

    Represent the LSB in appropriate national and international organizations and committees

    Serve as GBP representative on the Graduate Business Policy Committee.
    Maintain membership and participation in national and international organizations associated with graduate business education to increase visibility (such as Jesuit Business Network, MBA Roundtable, PTMBA Advisory Board, Executive MBA Council, BusinessCAS, Online MBA Advisory Board).

    Work with the online MBA/MS vendor (Everspring) on implementation of online programs.

    Partner with Everspring, Online Team and the Online Programs Faculty Directors to ensure all online programs are a success.
    Monitor performance metrics, communicate and coordinate necessary adjustments if needed.

    Special Projects
    Develop and review policies and procedures that are in line with University policies and also meet the business need within the school
    Provide consultation to staff & faculty on various complex initiatives in the area of Graduate Business Programs.
    Serve on various committees (e.g. the Graduate Policy Committee) and represent the School at various functions Other duties as assigned

    Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
    Prepares progress reports; informs supervisor of project status; and deviation from goals. Ensures completeness, accuracy and timeliness of all operational functions.
    Prepares and submits reports as requested and required.
    Develops and implements guidelines to support the functions of the unit.
    F. QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Education and/or Experience
    MBA or equivalent Master's degree required, Ed.D. or PhD preferred
    8-10 years of work related to school/education administration required
    Supervisor experience required
    Marketing education or experience preferred.
    Experience in higher education administration preferred
    Experience with GMAC, AACSB and other international organizations is preferred
    Experience with running an advisory board or being on a board is preferred

    2. Knowledge
    Knowledge of and experience with essential computer programs.
    Demonstrated knowledge of Workday and PeopleSoft preferred.

    3. Skills
    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
    Presentation, leadership, conflict mediation, and team motivation skills 4. Abilities
    Ability to work effectively with school administrators, faculty, students and staff as well as university administrators at various levels.
