Dean of Law manages administrative functions of the college of law. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Law leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Law requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Law manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. We are seeking a Family Law Paralegal for our Charlotte, North Carolina office who can support our attorneys by maintaining proper workflow, managing litigation calendars, drafting, and preparing legal documents, and be the driving force behind the day-to day operations of the law practice.
Our paralegals are organized, handles pressure well, understand the importance of deadlines thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They are self-motivators, comfortable working independently, and can manage competing priorities.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Prepare, file, and serve legal documents such as enclosure memos, pleadings, certificates of service, client correspondence, subpoenas, and financial affidavits.
· Assist with trial preparation by creating demonstrative exhibits, pleading notebooks, asset/debt spreadsheets, and perform child support calculations.
· Analyzing evidence and discovery to produce documentation, respond with objections, identify missing documents, and produce Federal Rule Letters.
· Manage and track case management by updating calendars and organizing client files.
Qualifications:
· 2 years’ experience working in a family law firm.
· Ability to understand Local Rules and how they apply to family law cases.
· Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills specifically in high stress and emotional situations.
· Ability to maintain professionalism while showing empathy to all clients.
