Dean of Law jobs in Oklahoma
Dean of Law manages administrative functions of the college of law. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Law leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Law requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Law manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Law typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Responsibilities:
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and depositions.
- Conduct legal research for issues related to cases when necessary.
- Prepare and respond to discovery.
- Conduct initial consultations with potential clients.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication with clients, court officials, opposing counsels and other.
- Manage caseload from start to finish under the supervision of the senior attorney.
Requirements:
We need an organized, motivated, self-starter person to take ownership of their role and cases with confidence to do what needs to be done for us all to succeed. We are the opposite of micromanagers, and we are looking for a rockstar to join our team with confidence to manage their caseload to do what needs to be done to bring our clients success. The right person will be licensed by the Oklahoma State Bar and be in good standing for no less than 3 years.
