Dean of Undergraduate Programs manages administrative functions of the undergraduate program. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Undergraduate Programs leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Undergraduate Programs requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Undergraduate Programs manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Undergraduate Programs typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Job Description:

    As an undergraduate Intern in our XR Lab, you will play a key role in the creation of XR-based healthcare training applications for Nursing students. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative, immersive experiences that enhance nursing education. You will gain hands-on experience in the field of XR development and game design, while contributing to the transformation of nursing education training. Key responsibilities include:

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with undergraduate and graduate Nursing students to understand their needs and insights related to nursing training.
    • Design and develop XR-based healthcare training applications using game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
    • Create interactive and immersive experiences that simulate nursing scenarios, procedures, and patient interactions.
    • Optimize applications for various XR platforms, including VR and AR, to ensure a seamless user experience.
    • Incorporate gamification elements and interactive simulations to engage users and enhance the learning process.
    • Conduct user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve application functionality and user experience.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize performance to ensure the applications run smoothly.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in XR, game development, and medical training.
    • Collaborate with the XR Lab team to support ongoing research projects and initiatives.

    Job Requirements:
    • An undergraduate senior from a Game Design, Computer Science, or related program with a strong understanding of XR technologies and game development, who has completed all other university course work necessary for graduation.
    • Proficiency in Unity and Unreal Engine with the ability to create XR applications from concept to delivery.
    • Strong programming skills in languages such as C# and C .
    • A solid understanding of 3D modeling, animation, and physics simulations.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with Nursing students and team members.
    • A passion for XR technology and a commitment to enhancing medical education through immersive experiences.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, creative, and responsible.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in creating medical or healthcare-related XR applications.
    • Knowledge of best practices in UX/UI design for XR applications.
    • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and project management tools (e.g., JIRA).
    • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare practices.
